So... I had this random inspiration which threatened to develop into a fully-fledged fic idea if I didn't do something small with it. So, here is a ficlet which I'm sure most of you will hate. Enjoy.
Complete.
Stumbling through the Darkness, Riku wasn’t entirely sure what he was doing. All he knew was that he’d had to get out, get off Destiny Islands and away from the sunny smiles and bright cheerfulness of his erstwhile friends, which only seemed to burn him, and make him realise he didn’t belong there anymore. Something called in his blood, and he didn’t know what it was.
“What are you doing here…?” asked a low voice, orange eyes narrowed in the Darkness.
“X-Xemnas…” Riku murmured, stumbling back from the black-clad figure.
The Nobody looked down the length of his nose at Riku, lifting a hand in question.
“Well?”
Riku’s hands came to his chest, upper lip curling back from his teeth as something in him reached for the man who stood before him, arms folded. Xemnas arched both brows when Riku looked up at him, green eyes seeming to glow in the darkness.
“He’s inside of me…” the keyblade master whispered, hands fisting.
“What?” Xemnas frowned, brows furrowing over his eyes.
“Ansem…” Riku said softly, then with a little desperation; “He’s here! He’s here!”
Xemnas stepped back, confusion flickering across his face before he schooled his features. The silver-haired youth’s apparent upset made him feel odd. And he wasn’t used to feeling much of anything.
“What are you going on about?” he asked.
“I can still… feel him and… you’re… you’re part of him…”
“I fail to see your meaning.”
Riku snatched at the front of Xemnas’ coat, clutching at him as a tear slid down his cheek.
“I need you.”
The Nobody’s eyes grew wide and he pushed away Riku’s hands, stumbling back and lifting a hand to teleport as far from the youth as he could. But the pleading in the green eyes gave him pause.
“You speak nonsense,” he said firmly, shaking his head.
“No… part of him… it’s still inside me and… and it… it gnaws at me because… it’s incomplete… But… you… you make it complete…”
Riku reached for Xemnas again, twisting his fingers gently in the robe at his hips and drawing himself closer.
“Riku…” Xemnas said uncertainly, shaking his head again. “I think you’re searching in the wrong place for whatever it is you’re looking for.”
“No… No, I’m not…” was the whispered reply. Riku snaked an arm around Xemnas’ neck and leaned up on his tiptoes, pressing a light kiss to the Nobody’s lips.
Light exploded around them and Xemnas wrapped his arms about Riku. Whatever Riku had been looking for paled in comparison to what Xemnas found – his heart.
